Our client is a FTSE listed PLC that provides consultancy, support and delivery services focused on improving the delivery of public services. A Commercial Director is required for the largest business unit.

The purpose of the Commercial Director is to enhance the commercial performance of the Business Unit through financial planning, management and control, production and use of management information and guidance and advice to the Board. Responsibilities include: Assisting the MD to operate the business in the most financially advantageous manner; to establish and maintain KPIs that drive maximum focus on core goals; Business modelling and assessment to focus management on key areas, take prompt informed decisions and enhance performance.

The successful applicant will be a fully qualified accountant, with commercial acumen and demonstrable financial modelling, reporting and planning experience. You will be comfortable operating at board level, possessing the necessary gravitas and influencing skills to operate in a virtual team structure. You will have a background in bid / tendering and legal and commercial negotiation, preferably in a technology / consulting business. This is a strategic, yet hands-on role, for high achievers with some UK travel.
