Our client is a small manufacturing business with an ethical stance whose safety critical products have a world-wide reputation. The company is the European market leader in its field. As part of their succession planning process, they are looking for a new Operations Director to lead the factory and supply chain teams.

You will be responsible for all the manufacturing and supply chain operations. As a key member of the senior management team you will be accountable for the implementation of operational management and development plans so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans within budgets and timescales. You will maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development and lead a small team.  In addition you will manage the supply chain and ensure it is fully integrated into the business and seek out new suppliers and negotiate contracts with the same

The successful candidate will be a senior operations manager / director with a track record of success in the manufacturing / engineering sectors. This could have been in a standalone SME or at factory general management level for a business unit of a larger concern. You will possess strong leadership and management skills, commercial awareness and be hands-on and detailed in approach. You will also be familiar with supply chain management, including working  with Asian and other international suppliers.
