Our client is an SME manufacturing business with a people orientated approach at an exciting stage in its development. To enable the business to continue on an upward trajectory they are seeking a new finance director to complement the existing board.

Working closely with the managing and operations directors, the finance director will be responsible for all business and financial strategy and planning, including the development of policies, systems and processes. In addition to preparing statutory finance statements to UK gaap and management information, you will manage the key relationships with external suppliers and advisors. You will also manage, motivate and develop a small team and undertake company secretarial duties.

The successful applicant will be commercially minded and able to contribute to the overall running of a business. You will be people focused, with an open and honest style, and interested in the operations as a whole; this is not a role for an insular, numbers-only accountant. You will be a qualified accountant with experience of costings, preferably gained in an SME manufacturing business. You will possess sound negotiating and influencing skills and be comfortable making decisions as part of a small team.
