Vanessa Moon has over 25 years senior management and board level recruitment experience. She works with a broad portfolio of clients both in the UK and internationally; these range from start ups, family owned concerns, major banks as well as FTSE Listed businesses. She also has significant experience in the not for profit and charity sectors. She recruits mainly board level roles; covering Non Exec, Chairman, CEO/ MD, FD, Sales, Operations and HR.

Vanessa co-founded Moon Consulting in 2000 perceiving a need for a return to the personal touch in senior level recruitment and is a firm advocate of the company's core values of being distinctive, ethical and approachable in all their undertakings. Her other business activities include being on the CBI South West Council (7th year of office), and a Trustee of Spike Island. With her fellow directors, she is an active member of Business West, the Institute of Personnel and Development, IOD, CBI, Bristol Enterprise Network as well as many other business networking associations.

Prior to Moon Consulting, Vanessa graduated with a degree in Human Communication, she commenced her career with Rank Xerox, before working as a Regional Manager for a US owned international recruiter and then was head hunted herself to be a Senior Manager and shareholder for a VC backed UK search firm.

Peaches Golding OBE MBA

Principal Consultant

Peaches Golding OBE is one of the South West region's leading ethical business experts. She joined Moon Consulting as a Principal Consultant from Business in the Community, where she was regional director and director of special projects for The Prince of Wales' START initiative. She was the High Sheriff of Bristol 2010 – 2011.

Her role with Moon Consulting will create new business opportunities among FTSE listed, medium to large businesses and the charitable / not for profit sector. She will work closely with clients across the UK on a variety of assignments from confidential headhunts to advertised search and selection campaigns. She also heads up our Sustainability Division bringing significant experience recruiting in the renewable energy and engineering sectors; incorporating environmental, sustainable energy, wind/solar/hydro power, waste management and bio fuels.

Peaches established her marketing and communications business in 1992 and quickly provided services for Business in the Community and other private sector organisations as well as many public sector organisations including the Office for the Deputy Prime Minister, Government Office for the South West and Business Link. She chairs the Viewer Advisory Panel for ITV West Country and was formerly chair of the Regional Advisory Council for ITV West. She is on the Advisory Council of the ss Great Britain.

She was formerly a non-executive director of North Bristol Hospital NHS Trust, GWR West Limited, a member of the Ethnic Minority Business Forum, the Home Office representative on the Avon & Somerset Police Authority, a Governor of the University of the West of England and a member of the General Chiropractic Council. She was awarded an OBE in 2009 for services to minority ethnic people in the South West and an honorary MBA from the University of the West of England in recognition of her work in responsible business behaviour in the region.

Oliver Harrison MA

Marketing Co-ordinator

Oliver joined Moon Consulting in July 2011 as Marketing Co-ordinator.

He has a diverse background in marketing and executive support from the charitable sector, legal, property management and central Government. He was previously Executive Assistant to the CEO of a major UK charity and was Prime Ministers' Questions Briefing Officer at the Ministry of Justice.

Oliver is responsible for all of Moon Consulting's marketing activity, including social media, advertising, events and conferences. He manages our website, produces all our news articles and e-newsletters, and performs market research. He also works closely with the Moon Consulting Directors, providing executive support, working on headhunting campaigns, talent banking and company profiling.

Oliver provides support for our candidates by handling their applications efficiently and with full confidentiality. He works closely with our partner agencies and clients on joint ventures, especially in events and media. He is always eager to make new productive relationships with local businesses.

Recent successes include the Board 2020 business conference series, the popular new monthly newsletter, the ‘About the Board' interview series and sourcing a Sales Director for a high tech client.

Malcolm has run SVP for over 20 years around the world. Nowadays he facilitates, trains and coaches CEO's, Boards and Senior Management Teams in ‘Strategic Leadership and Governance', combining the ‘hard' business skills of finance and strategy with the ‘softer' behavioural skills of leadership and culture.

Over the last 30 years, Malcolm has advised or personally invested in many companies and has industry experience as an FD. By profession a Chartered Accountant (KPMG) with a Masters in finance, he is also trained in many of the deeper ‘soft' skills. Malcolm is actively involved academically with four major business schools in delivering Masters level business strategy, finance and leadership courses in the UK as well as Executive development worldwide.

In the past golf he was England Golf Captain and played in the British Open.

Matthew Shaw

Having led two management buyouts (MBO's) and the successful sale of Bart Spices to a Private Equity fund, Matthew took a year out to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience sailing across the Atlantic and back and enjoying a four month family cruise in the Carribean. On his return in 2012 he set up Pau Amma to support business owners and leaders achieve their goals, whether that be realising value through exit or assisting in increasing profitability.



During his time at Bart, Matthew and his team increased profitability ten fold and more than doubled turnover in a period of four years. This performance, combined with a number of other value enhancing activities led to the successful, multi-million pound sale of the business in 2010.

Prior to leading Bart as CEO, Matthew held senior management positions in sales and marketing in Mars, Pfizer and United Biscuits. Prior to that he secured world class management training with Waitrose.

Matthew is a volunteer business mentor for the Princes Trusts Enterprise Programme and believes firmly in enterprise and helping young people to get a start in life. He is also a Non Executive Chairman and an investor in Prezola – the Gift Wish List company and enjoys sailing and mountain biking.

Julie is co-founder of GingerHR and is an experienced and qualified employment lawyer who was, until setting up GingerHR, a Partner and Head of the Employment Team at one of the regions respected and heavyweight law firms. Appreciating the need for businesses to have access to cost effective and fixed price HR and employment law solutions, Julie set up GingerHR to offer proactive HR solutions and employment law advice to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
