We are holding an important business seminar at the University of the West of England on Friday 14th October 2011.
Hosted by RBS, TLT, UWE, Strategic Value Partners and Moon Consulting this is a free conference where leading experts in business, banking, law and strategy will be speaking on a range of topics that will help to future proof your board.

SPEAKER PROFILES
Anwen Robinson (Managing Director, UNIT4 Software)
As Managing Director for UNIT4 Business Software Limited, Anwen is responsible for the UK & Ireland subsidiary of the global UNIT4 Group, a company specialising in change enabling software solutions for Public and Commercial organisations. Having worked for UNIT4 for 13 years, formerly as Sales & Marketing Director, Anwen has been directly involved in the growth and transformation of UNIT4 to its current £70M turnover, 450 staff position with a clear vision & solid strategy to drive innovative business growth. Anwen has worked within the IT industry for the past 20 years and prior to that was a teacher of Computer Science and Mathematics and a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering being a graduate Engineer.
Martin Hagen (Non Executive Director)
Martin is an experienced Chartered Accountant with a portfolio of non-executive appointments which followed a thirty year career with Deloitte. He advised large companies in a range of areas including accounting and audit, corporate finance and investigations. He led private equity and listed company transactions including fund raisings, MBO's, MBI's and trade sales. He was a member of the Takeover Panel and served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for 2009/10. Currently he is a director of South West Water, chairman of Swallowfield PLC, a governor of UWE and a trustee of the Fleet Air Arm Museum. He is Deputy Chairman of the Regulatory Decisions Committee of the FSA.
Malcolm Lewis (Principal, Strategic Value Partners)
Malcolm has run SVP for over 20 years around the world. Nowadays he facilitates and trains Boards and Senior Management Teams in ‘Strategic Leadership and Governance', combining the ‘hard' business skills of finance and strategy with the ‘softer' behavioural skills of leadership and culture. Over the last 30 years, Malcolm has advised or personally invested in over 30 company restructurings and has industry experience as an FD. By profession a Chartered Accountant (KMG) with a Masters in finance, he is also trained in many of the deeper ‘soft' skills. Malcolm is actively involved academically with four major business schools in delivering Masters level business strategy, finance and leadership courses in the UK as well as Executive development worldwide.
Andrew Webber (Partner, TLT)
Andrew is a partner in the Corporate Team at TLT Solicitors. He acts for a range of private and public companies as well as private individuals and partnerships. Andrew regularly advises on M&A transactions in the £5-£50 million mid-market range and recently advised the shareholders of Sharp's Brewery on its sale to Molson Coors for £20 million. He has an impressive track record of involvement in rapid-growth acquisition programmes and high-profile disposals. Andrew was promoted to partner in 2008 and was awarded Young Dealmaker of the Year at the 2008 South West Deal Awards. He is recommended as a 'Leader in the Field' of Corporate/M&A law by Chambers UK. Andrew co-ordinates TLT's Non-Executive Directors network, an innovative information and networking service
Robert Bourns (Partner, TLT)
Robert is a partner in TLT's highly rated Employment Team. He is an experienced advocate and employment lawyer, with particular expertise relating to TUPE, insolvency, partnership (including LLP), the exiting of senior executives and partners and issues concerning the enforcement and enforceability of post-termination restrictions. Robert has been Managing Partner of the firm for six years, and the Senior Partner for three consecutive terms. As a past Secretary and President of Bristol Law Society and Secretary of the Association of South Western Law Societies, Robert has been and remains actively engaged in the debate around regulatory change in the legal profession. He currently sits on Council of The Law Society and is one of five representatives for the City of London constituency.
Nigel Irvine (Director, RBS)
Nigel Irvine is a director at RBS Corporate & Institutional Banking responsible for business development across the South West and South Wales. A Chartered Banker, his varied career with both RBS and Bank of Scotland has embraced a range of functions from corporate relationship management to starting and developing entirely new businesses. In previous roles, Nigel has led leveraged finance deals, restructuring and turnaround situations and originated and executed many equity investments. With significant experience of a range of corporate finance transactions, including management buy outs, joint ventures and trade sales in both public and private arenas, Nigel has worked closely and successfully with numerous company boards
