On Tuesday 10th May Moon Consulting, Jordans and Veale Wasbrough Vizards are holding an important business seminar which offers free expert advice to business directors and owners highlighting the essential steps that need to be taken in light of the latest legislation and compliance requirements, as well as do's and don'ts for businesses. The speakers will give you a brief snapshot of upcoming changes this year and how it can affect your business.

Three leading professionals will outline the issues and the steps you need to take:
Gareth Edwards, Partner, Veale Wasbrough Vizards will highlight the top five issues that employers need to be addressing at this time, including the default retirement age, the agency worker regulations and recent developments in case law.
Paul Townsend, Director, Jordans will discuss the real-world impact of The Companies Act 2006, the new electronic filing regime and the likely implications of the 2010 Bribery Act.
Shaun Durham, Director, Moon Consulting will cover Board level recruiting in this economic climate and how bringing in new senior hires and Non-Exec's can have a positive impact on company growth.

Gareth Edwards, Partner, Veale Wasbrough Vizards
Gareth is an employment law specialist and advises on the full range of both contentious and non-contentious employment law and labour relations issues. He has a wide experience of managing complex and sensitive issues in the workplace, together with managing employment tribunal disputes. He is also an experienced employment tribunal advocate. Gareth has a particular interest in discrimination law and also in data protection/freedom of information issues. He also advises on industrial relations issues and non-contentious issues, such as executive severances, business reorganisations, TUPE and outsourcing issues, and the employment aspects of corporate transactions. Gareth regularly conducts in-house training seminars and also speaks at external conferences. He regularly contributes articles for the business press on employment law issues. Gareth is also a member of the Family Business team.

Paul Townsend, Director of Corporate Services, Jordans
Paul Townsend is a director of Jordans, one of the largest providers of legal support and corporate advisory services in the UK. Paul works with professional intermediaries and companies to help them meet their compliance needs, both in the UK and overseas. Prior to this, Paul was a divisional director at St Ives plc, responsible for their outsourcing operations across the financial services and wider corporate sectors. Prior to this, he held senior management positions at Deloitte and French multinational, Essilor. Paul has also been a Management Consultant working with companies of all sizes across Europe and the USA. Paul is a Business Studies graduate and has an MBA and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Shaun Durham, Director of Moon Consulting
Shaun joined Moon Consulting as a director in 2003. Following the completion of a Ph.D, he joined an established accountancy recruiter where he launched two divisions and was latterly responsible for interim management and senior permanent recruitment in the UK and Europe. Shaun now works for a variety of owner-managed and corporate clients conducting contingent searches, head-hunting, and national advertising campaigns. Shaun places a particular emphasis on working with South West based owner-managed businesses to provide succession planning and executive resourcing advice. Out of the office Shaun practices Aikido, enjoys mountain biking and playing golf.
