Events

Due to the great success of the events Moon Consulting has been involved with in 2011, we will be looking to expand our event offerings in 2012.

We will be running the very successful Board2020 event again on the 23rd March at the University of the West of England. To register interest, to go to our Event Brite Site. We also have an active discussion group on LinkedIn, where delegates can speak about subjects related to the event.

This year, Moon Consulting will be running our "Ask the Expert" series of workshops, where a small group of senior executives and non-executives can quiz prominent and respected business champions in a range of fields.

Using our extensive business engagement to add value to our client and candidate relationships, Moon Consulting will be joining forces with one of the region’s largest banks for its first ‘Ask the Expert’ session on Wednesday, 28 March.

Future ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions are planned on topics ranging from protecting the value of the brand and reputation, challenges facing the charity and not for profit sector to the implications of new legislation on social housing.  If any of these topics interests you, please register your interest with oliverharrison@moonconsulting.co.uk so that we can contact you when dates and times have been confirmed.

Recruitment Update

We are fortunate to have started the New Year on a high! We have some very interesting new mandates from clients; roles have included FD, MD, Non-Exec, General Manager and Sales / E-Commerce. Sectors range from software, food and drink, retail, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. Client size has varied from start ups, Private Equity backed companies, large corporate and an international group.

Many of our assignments are confidential in nature and are often subject to a non-disclosure document, which means that they are not advertised in the open market. Consequently, the roles on our website are a small proportion of our portfolio, representing around a quarter of our workload. If you are seeking a new role or just wish to discuss your options, then it’s best to call or email us directly so that we can respond in detail and work with you: 01275 371200 or recruit@moonconsulting.co.uk.

We are finding that clients like to focus on their own sector and supply chain so many of our assignments are headhunts. We also have a database of about 14,000 contacts which can help in progressing a search. We understand that high-level vacancies rarely arise; when they do we want you to call us!

Business Consulting

Our Business Consulting division currently offers Human Resources and Financial advice. We will be looking to expand our consultancy wing into new areas of expertise in 2012 to offer even more comprehensive service to our clients. Chris Eatwell MA CIPD offers Interim or part time HR consulting and Brian Frost ACA offers Interim or Part time Finance Director consulting. I am pleased to report that there has been a call for both their services early on this year, both to repeat clients.

Social Media

There’s no denying that 2012 will see the continued rise of Social Media, with more businesses looking to develop relationships with their customers using Social Media tools. We will be making the most of our Twitter Account and Facebook Page to give you the latest news, events, and vacancies.

We have always been big LinkedIn users, especially Director Vanessa Moon. All staff enjoy contributing to the online discussion topics on a variety of subjects depending on their expertise. We also use LinkedIn as part of our search and selection process, so if you want to get headhunted, create an account!

E-News

Our e-news letter will continue on a monthly basis, giving you relevant and interesting news related to our activities and the South West business scene. We will be working increasingly with our business partners, so expect to see great guest articles on a variety of subjects

Vanessa Moon

This is our twelfth year of trading and I am delighted to be in this position! In 2012, we will be focusing on gathering accurate client and candidate feedback to influence our strategy and raising our profile in the market. We will continue to grow our business and have a number of new initiatives pending so watch this space. In terms of recruitment, my particular strength is building teams at board level:I have some exciting high level projects coming up and I would be very pleased to speak to any individuals seeking career advice. On a personal note, I absolutely relish my role as trustee of Spike Island, as well as being privileged to sit on the CBI South West Council.  I am also just about to be appointed a Non Exec for a business in London, so my external portfolio grows!   Sadly there is no news on a Take That tour for me to go to this year but we did get some Olympic tickets (football!).

Peaches Golding

Having launched our Sustainability Division last year, I shall continue to work with businesses whose activities range from corporate responsibility and the environment to renewable energy and environmental services.  Please keep an eye on our website to find out about the exciting range of events I am creating where senior executives and non-executive directors can enrich and enhance their commercial or financial performance by directly interrogating experts on emerging issues or topics.  My non-exec involvement with ITV West Country and the SS Great Britain will continue.
