  We are now half way through the first month of 2011, our 11th year of trading, and things are pretty much back to normal after the bad weather and the Christmas break. Moon Consulting had a busy end to 2010 which carried through into the New Year as we finalised assignments in the software, e-commerce, manufacturing and education sectors (that's two FDs, an MD and an Operations Director). 

So what do we expect from this year?

Plenty of 'known unknowns' with the fragile economic recovery, VAT hike, public sector cuts and redundancies. (Today's announcement on youth unemployment makes grim reading)

The recruitment market for senior executives in the South West will remain tight and competitive. We think that the finance, accounting and financial services sectors will do well. But most businesses will be keeping a tight control of their cost base, which will impact on investment.

We have already signed up to talk at TLT Solicitor's NED event in February and will be making two announcements shortly about the launch of new initiatives with our professional partnes.

All in all then a busy Q1.
