Moon Consulting has enjoyed yet another successful series working with the University of West of England (UWE) to deliver the Spring instalment of the renowned Bristol Distinguished Address Series. These hugely-popular events provide some of the region's most influential business leaders with an opportunity to hear about decisions that are being made at highest level of strategic leadership.
Led by our Head of Search, Simon Quinn, we provided exclusive VIP drinks receptions to pre-selected groups of business leaders. Each event offers the attendees a unique opportunity to discuss issues directly affecting their businesses with some of the most prominent industry leaders.
The Spring instalment of this series proved as popular as ever, with speakers of the highest calibre exploring topics at the forefront of today's business news. Topics for discussion throughout this series covered the width and breadth of business issues, including;
- Boldness in Business with Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, Chairman of Cobra Beer Partnership
- Future of Work & Organisations with Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD
- Mobilising the Power of Data To Help Britain with John Pullinger, CEO of the UK Statistics Authority
- The Future of Brands in a Post-Truth World with Paul Geddes, CEO of Direct Line Group
- Post-Globalism with Baroness Shriti Vadera, Chair of Santander UK
- More People in Fewer Cars with Fred Jones, Head of Cities, Uber
Professor Nicholas O'Regan, Associate Dean of Research & Innovation at UWE, was involved with identifying the speakers. He said of the event;
"At UWE Bristol our partnerships and networks add real value to our learning and working environment. Connecting with the local and regional economy, businesses and communities to advance knowledge, and to advance the health, sustainability and prosperity of our locality and region, is part of our core ambition.
One of the ways of doing this is to have the opportunity to hear from experienced Business Leaders about the latest cutting-edge leadership issues - the lineup is a Who's Who of Industry. We are fortunate to have this opportunity."
Moon Consulting would like to thank the speakers and our VIP guests for providing enthusiastic and engaging discussions, highlighting some of the major issues affecting business today.
We have received positive feedback from each event, here were some of our favorite quotes from the Spring series;
"It was a really good event and I will definitely be signing up for more. Lord Bilimoria was inspirational and I know I will be reflecting on his speech over the next few days. Also the quality of delegates was impressive - from small start-ups to blue chips, as well as a good mix of UWE attendees, really interesting people to network with." Sarah Joannidi, Audit Partner, RSM UK Audit LLP
"Another fantastic event at UWE. Peter Cheese was an excellent speaker - really engaging. His thoughts and research on the future of the workplace and the challenges for businesses were very thought provoking, relevant and insightful. Certainly plenty of food for HR thought!" Bex Sinclair, Head of HR Consultancy, Clarke Willmott.
"What a great Distinguished Address, surely a Masterclass! And it was good to meet the speaker (Paul Geddes) at your VIP reception beforehand, and to network with others." John Courtney, CEO, Stockwood Ventures.
"The (Baroness Vadera's) speech provided real food for thought on the challenges we face globally and within the UK as the political and economic landscape goes through an unprecedented period of change." Paul Wood, Director of Strategic Debt Finance, Lloyds Bank.
"Many thanks to Moon Consulting for hosting the VIP reception and particularly for Simon Quinn for introducing me to Fred Jones. Fred was very engaging and enabled me and others to ask some in-depth questions."Martin Mohan, Director, MM Connections Limited.
