Bristol Students’ Union is now delighted to announce a new appointment of Trustee, following a successful campaign conducted by Executive Search firm Moon Consulting Executive Appointments.

Raj Kakar-Clayton, Managing Director of Which? Trusted Traders based in Bristol will be joining the Board of Trustees in September 2018.  Raj brings a strong network within the Bristol business community and has also worked actively as a trustee within the charity sector in Bristol for 10 years. Raj said “I am passionate about the City and making sure the youth and students have a voice in our diverse culture and business community.  I feel very strongly about student mental health issues and how Bristol as a City, has a duty of care in helping vulnerable students”.

Tapping into their vast network, Moon Consulting were able to reach out to a group of exceptional individuals to inform them of Bristol Students’ Union plans now and for the future.  The search campaign was led by Moon Consulting’s Executive Search Consultant Sandy Hinks, who used a wide range of expert search techniques such as Search & Selection, our unique Network Search and precision advertising, to help uncover the very best talent.

Of the search, Sandy commented; “When I was approaching potential Trustees for this campaign, I was pleased with the positivity and support from everyone that I spoke to. The idea of contributing towards the lives of our students and becoming a part of helping Bristol Students’ Union achieve their vision of the best student life was very positive and uplifting.  These students are our future workforce and they need to be given the very best start possible.  2018 is a great time to be joining the Trustee Board at Bristol Students’ Union, as they are currently preparing for major new developments including being involved in transformative university programmes including a new campus at Temple Quarter, as well as helping address the most pressing issues facing students today including access to education, mental health, accommodation, race inequality, poverty, inclusivity and internationalisation.  We wish Raj every success in his new appointment and we look forward to hearing about his and the boards achievements”.

Samantha Budd, CEO of Bristol Students’ Union said "We’d like to take this time to thank Moon Consulting and Sandy Hinks for their very personable approach to locating and securing Raj as our new Trustee. Moon Consulting has played a key role in assisting Bristol Students’ Union in this search campaign, utilising their extensive networks and search methodologies to successfully source a resourceful, determined and committed individual as a Trustee”.
